The German Bundestag takes the protection of personal data very seriously. Below you will find an overview of what data is collected and used, and for what purposes.
1. General information
The German Bundestag is subject to the provisions of the Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz) and the Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) of the Federal Republic of Germany. The necessary technical and organisational measures have therefore been taken to ensure that the German Bundestag and its external service providers comply with data-protection rules.
We use the open-source software Piwik for the purposes of statistical analysis of visits to the website. Data is collected in anonymous form only. Please consult the general privacy statement

2. Collection of personal data when ordering items
To process your order, we collect the following personal data:
- Delivery address
- Items ordered, quantity
- Your email address (to prevent misuse).
All of this information is required. No other data is collected.
The data is collected by the company commissioned by the Bundestag, IBRo, 18184 Roggentin, is used to process your order, and is stored for two months to allow any subsequent complaints to be processed.
If you order the catalogue of the exhibition "Milestones - Setbacks - Sidetracks", for which there is a fee, your data will be retained until payment has been received. Invoices are subsequently kept for ten years (Section 14b of the Turnover Tax Act (Umsatzsteuergesetz)).
Once the data is no longer needed for the above purposes, it is rendered anonymous and analysed for statistical purposes. By submitting an order, you confirm that you are in agreement with this.
